Main Street Planters

Main Street Planters Have Become A Windsor Locks Tradition

Windsor Locks Main Street PlantersEach Spring, the streets of Windsor Locks are filled with color as the Windsor Locks Chamber of Commerce and ConnectiCare sponsor the annual Main Street Beautification Project. Since 1999 local residents look forward to the spring season, when Main Street, the Town Hall and areas around the Senior Center are lined with colorful flower barrels.

The flowers are replaced seasonally from the spring through the fall and maintained by the Windsor Locks Chamber and Russo Lawn & Landscape. The planters are currently filled with Wave Petunias and in September they will be replaced with mums, which is how they will remain until their removal in early November.

Planters are sponsored through monetary donations ranging from $50 and up. Businesses and people are proud to be a part of what has seemed to become a town wide tradition. Sponsors are recognized through the Windsor Locks Chamber of Commerce website and e-newsletters as well as a Certificate of Recognition for their support. The Chamber relies on community sponsorships for this event.

If you would like to become a sponsor contact the Chamber at (860) 623-9319, or email the Chamber at info@windsorlockschamber.org.
